Dr. Evan Yu

Dr. Evan Yu is the third generation of his family in healthcare.
His father and grandfather were general surgeons. He is originally from Massachusetts but also lived in Kansas while growing up. He completed his undergraduate studies at Boston College where he graduated summa cum laude with a degree in biochemistry and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to dental school, Dr. Yu worked in research at a biotech startup in Boston developing medical diagnostic kits. He attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Yu later attended the General Practice Residency at Metropolitan Hospital in New York City. During this time, he trained under specialists covering many disciplines of dentistry and acquired extensive experience in crown and bridge, root canal therapy, surgical extractions, placement and restoration of implants, minor oral surgeries, CT interpretation, and more.
Dr. Yu believes dentistry to be an ennobling profession that allows him to relieve pain and improve quality of life. He has volunteered for Mission of Mercy, Special Olympics Special Smiles, and Inner City Dental Missions. He has also participated in mission trips to provide dental care for the indigent in the Dominican Republic and Honduras.

Aside from dentistry, Dr. Yu’s two other passions in life are indoor rowing and Olympic recurve archery.  He dreams of someday qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Archery Team.
