Sleep Apnea Treatment

American Academy of Dental Sleep MedicineIt is estimated that as many as 22 million people in the U.S. alone experience some degree of sleep apnea; a disorder which manifests itself in brief interruptions of breathing during sleep. Left untreated, sleep apnea can lead to devastating afflictions; heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and stroke. While success has been achieved with the CPAP machine, not everyone is able to tolerate this therapy. For milder cases and for those with moderate to severe apnea who cannot use the CPAP, we offer a simple Oral Appliance Therapy which has proven to be a very effective treatment option for many. If you’re concerned your sleep is being compromised by apnea, consult with Dr. Trish Braga at Cahill Dental Care. She’ll put your worries to rest.

“I saw Dr. Braga in May about getting a new appliance for apnea. You referred me to a sleep study as it had been 21 years since my last one. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! The study found AHI 30+. A additional study with CPAP brought that back to 15. Last night was the first night with my DreamStation Bi-Level Auto SV machine. I slept 8 hours and 58 minutes with AHI of 4.6, I’m in the Normal range. I’m sorry that I can’t get a oral appliance from you but to may have helped me live longer. I’m sorry I didn’t come to you years ago. Thank you SO much Dr. Braga. You are my hero!!!”
